If you were a kid who littered your bedroom wall with posters of Porsches like the girls did with celebrity crushes, you could relate to this. Some of us dream of owning a classic sports car one day.
But not just any classic car; it’s always a particular model. Porsche is one of those iconic cars many of us fantasized about while growing up. And we want specific features. Because when we are ready, there will be no compromises.
Our Dusty Cars team is a leading classic car appraiser, buyer, and seller. No matter what type of classic Porsches we have, we know a classic car enthusiast is looking for it. Right now, we happen to have someone’s dream car up for sale: a 1960 Porsche 356B Super 90 Cabriolet. This Ruby Red convertible with original red leather seats to match has undergone a complete restoration. It’s the type of car that tells a Porsche enthusiast they’ve arrived.
This car is also a great example of what our team does when a Porsche needs professional restoration. We not only provide professional valuations and cash offers, but we also restore classic sports cars. Because this model is so rare, it was worth our time. More than 700 of the Porsche 356B Super 90 Cabriolets were produced (from 1959 to 1963). We know someone out there is dreaming of finding this exact model!
It’s Always a “Labor of Love” When We Restore a Porsche
Restoring a classic Porsche takes real skill and understanding. In the case of this 1960 Porsche 356B, we had to disassemble it. Every piece had to be assessed to see what it needed. We also did our best to ensure any original parts were carefully cleaned and saved. And for those pieces we couldn’t save, we found a perfect replacement.
Our restoration team had to build two separate tables to do the job. Pieces had to be fabricated and then precisely fitted and welded. It also had new floor metal and longitudinals. The original paint was on it, but it needed a full repaint. And the matching red upholstery is fresh too! The engine is also completely rebuilt. Here is the YouTube video explaining the timeline and restoration story.
We began this restoration process in 2019 and just put it on the website for sale in 2024. The valuation matches the amount of love and dedication we put in. And now, it’s ready for the right buyer to enjoy their Dream Car.
If you have a rare Porsche in poor condition, we are eager to take a look and make a cash offer. Then, we’ll start the restoration process all over again because we are living our dream by making the classic car business our profession!
