If You Own a Classic BMW, Dusty Cars Will Give You a Fair Valuation

Our Dusty Cars team writes a lot about the classic Porsche, Mercedes, and Jaguar brands. That’s because we get plenty of requests from collectors and enthusiasts looking to purchase their own, specific model.experts in classic BMW appraisals

But these are not the only classic cars enthusiastic buyers want to know about. When a classic BMW appraisal is requested, for example, we can guarantee a collector is ready to look at it. BMW’s luxury brand has decades of attractive roadsters, sedans, sports cars, and executive cars.

In the past, like other car companies, sometimes they misunderstood the market. For instance, BMW developed beautifully designed sportscars like the 503 Coupe and 507 Roadster. But these models cost too much to make and eventually BMW faced bankruptcy in the late 1950s. Then they changed course and began building a “Neue Klasse,” or New Class of car. Launched in 1962 the modern-style four-door sedans were a hit and saved the company from the brink of closing shop. The 1960s launched a new generation of popular, and profitable, BMW models, including the 3200 CS Coupe (1962 – 1965), 1500/1600/1800/2000 New Class (1962 – 1972), BMW E3 New Six sedan (1968-1977), and the BMW E9 New Six Coupe (1968 – 1975).

Now is a good time to remind everyone that our Dusty Cars team is an expert in classic BMW appraisals . If someone is lucky enough to own a 1960s BMW and is thinking of letting it go, we are ready to take a look at it. Regardless of the condition, there may be a quick and fair cash offer made too!

BMW’s Ancestry is an Interesting Story

When the name BMW was first commercially registered in July 1917, a logo wasn’t included. Company leaders may have thought a business that built and maintained aircraft engines didn’t need one. Regardless of why they were late in creating a logo, one was finally launched on October 5th, 1917. The iconic blue and white colors represent the Bavarian flag encircled by a black ring and the name at the top. Although many believe the logo represents a propeller, that may not have been the intention. There is much back and forth about this story. Either way, the idea fits well with the history of the brand and made for good marketing. The brand has produced motorcycles since 1923 and has received plenty of admirers. But our focus is on the cars. Which BMW began producing in 1928. Here’s a little interesting history on the evolution of the cars.

1936 – 1940 BMW 328 was a very successful sportscar. It won the Mille Miglia in 1940 (https://sportscardigest.com/1940-mille-miglia/). 1952 – 1958, the BMW Barockengel Baroque Angel was the first German car to have a V8 engine. The luxury class convertible auto appealed to upper-class citizens and dignitaries. 1955 – 1959 BMW 507 lovingly called “Munich’s Dream Car” MotorTrend  claims Germans thought it was the most beautiful car BMW made, but it was also costly to build. It was also very costly for the public to purchase, so sales were low. An owner today has quite the gem on their hands! And lets not forget the swinging 1970’s – this old commercial  makes it clear BMW was hip and cool back then too. Dusty Cars is always ready to offer a classic BMW appraisal! We enjoyed accessing a 1967 BMW 2000 CS Coupe  and selling it to a classic car collector excited to find it! There’s always a BMW fanatic ready to find their BMW dream car.
